Anna Garnett has been surrounded by music all her life, she has been creating harmonies and attending choirs from a very young age. She was brought up singing gospel music, so a lot of her confidence came from her peers. Anna is very passionate about music, she believes that belonging to a choir is such a massive part of her own happiness, especially watching choirs come together in harmony.
As a child, Anna was part of an organisation called Voice In A Million, and actually performed at the O2 arena, and Liverpool Echo Arena in front of thousands of people, this was just the start of a wonderful career in music.
Anna attended East Coast Academy of Music, studying music performance and production, which really improved her musical abilities, especially when it came to making musical arrangements and tracks for the choirs. She then went on to gain a diploma in music production, which ultimately gave her the confidence to produce backing tracks.
Anna felt extremely blessed when she was asked to go to London for an audition for Britains Got Talent, with her two sisters and mother. She went on to make it up to the semi-finals. It was an amazing experience and really taught her a lot about the music industry.
Anna has found that teaching choirs is incredibly exhilarating and rewarding. The passion that she feels when a choir can come together and sound so professional are one of the reasons she loves teaching so much. She loves being able to help the choir to gain confidence, to the point where they feel ready to perform in front of an audience. She likes the fact that she can bring a younger perspective to the choirs, especially the junior choirs.
