Dear All
I hope you are well. I am very pleased to inform you that you have been selected for The Remembrance Service at Hull City Hall.
Altos and Soprano sections will be split into two for Road Home and this will be done at the compulsory workshop 28th September.
The workshop starts at 7.00pm and will finish at 9:30pm. There is a cost to the workshop of £10 per person to cover costs. Please be sure to bring correct money on the evening in cash along with signing in with Paul. Please print out all of your lyrics ahead of the session. You will find all of the recourses in our members area. There will be more recourses to follow along with a possible extra rehearsal with the band. Please bring water with you.
The workshop will take place at
St Nicolas Church Pickering Road &, Hessle Rd, Hull DIRECTIONS
Please see our original posting.
This is a joint project/workshop of AFO and G Choir for the Remembrance Festival, Hull City Hall with the Humberside police band for The Royal British Legions remembrance day.
This project requires home learning 3/4 separate stand alone songs of which one of our pieces will be in 6 parts and is to be learned at home and rehearsed prior to the workshop as a separate piece.
The extra project Workshop will take place 28th Sept 7.00pm until 10.00pm at St Andrews Church Hull Hessle High Road. (using easy practice parts on YouTube (links can be found on our website if you'd like a heads up).
There will be a small cost of £10 (payable on the night by cash) to cover the cost of this 2.5 hour extra workshop which currently can't be accommodated into choir time due to Christmas commitments etc.
If we need to run another session we will cross that bridge when we come to it.
Please be mindful we will need to balance the choir sections with the right amount of singers in each section. This may mean some people may not be able to be accommodated.
We want to be part of the event as it is an incredible opportunity and felt this would be the best way to make it happen.
Places are limited and choir members will be selected based on all the above requirements being met.
Please rise to this challenge, it will be worth it ! If you dont get selected, it will be purely logistical and there will be many other oportunities.
If you feel you can commit to extra learning/rehearsal session/s and give it your all, we will welcome your application.
We cannot guarantee a place to all applicants for this event due to limited space at the event based on the organisers' requirements.
The choir will be seated for the duration of the festival in the choir stalls. The event takes place 10th November and you must be available.
Choir members will need to arrive around 18.00 for soundcheck on the day of the event. More details will be given of the event in the event details.
Please be mindful that not all applicants have been selected on this occasion.
We will absolutely need each and everyone of you to attend the workshop in order to perform, should you not be able to make the workshop you will be unable to perform due to the complex nature of the arrangement. Please do contact us if you are no longer able to attend so that we can substitute your place.
Once again thank you for your dedication and support.
